Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is in critical condition after being shot at an outdoors campaign event. The shooter is in custody and remained at scene after firing two shots, NHK World News reports.
According to NHK, police captured a male suspect at the scene. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the apparent attack in Nara.
