Nakata commended the continuous efforts of DepEd in addressing urgent issues concerning the education system in the Philippines greatly affected by the pandemic, as he reassured Japan’s commitment in assisting Filipino students and teachers “to the best of its ability.” The minister also cited the Philippines and Japan’s shared belief in education as the foundation of nation-building; thus, making it accessible to all is a must. He hoped that the donation will effectively help the department address inequalities in the education system, pre- and post-pandemic.
