BREAKING: January 6 committee votes to hold Steve Bannon in contempt
WASHINGTON – The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol voted Tuesday evening to hold Steve Bannon in contempt after the former Trump adviser denied a congressional subpoena.
Now that it has been approved by the committee, the contempt report of criminal charges will now go to the full House for a vote. If it is approved there, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., will send it to the Justice Department, who has final say on prosecuting Bannon. Bannon was not a White House staffer on or before Jan. 6, having left the administration years earlier.
