Jango Fett officially returns to Star Wars... as a HERO?!
Warning! This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #37 Jango Fett is many things in Star Wars canon. He’s a bounty hunter, a biological donor for cloning, and a killer of Jedi. However, what Jango Fett is not, is a hero. At least, that’s what fans thought before his most recent return to the Star Wars galaxy, one which shows him acting surprisingly heroic.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Jango Fett, the father of Boba Fett, made his debut in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, though his in-canon history stretches back long before the events of that film.
Jango Fett’s Star Wars Return Highlights Him Saving Someone, Not Killing Them In a preview for Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #37 by Ethan Sacks and Davide Tinto, the titular crew of bounty hunters are trying to locate Tarr Kligson, as one of their own - a cyborg - is having issues with his brain functions.
Just by contacting Taun We with the request to bring some stranger to Kamino, Jango Fett was risking his contract with the cloners, a contract that not only gave him wealth and security, but also his son, Boba. Aside from that, the actual action in this preview depicts Jango facing off against a small army of pirates all by himself, putting himself in mortal danger while facing impossible odds of survival, all to save one person.
No matter the reason, the narrative choice to present Jango in a heroic capacity after having not included him in Star Wars canon for years is startling, to say the least, which should make fans all the more excited to have Jango Fett’s latest chapter in Star Wars explored further with this upcoming issue.
