Janey Godley provided relief for a lot of us during the coronavirus pandemic, and it's incredibly hard to believe that she created her first Nicola Sturgeon daily briefing voiceover three years ago today.
She began creating voiceovers of her own take of what Nicola Sturgeon was saying, which even had the First Minister herself laughing.The First Minister said: "Janey Godley is a brilliant comedian in my view, and her voice overs are very, very funny. They are very rude in terms of the language that's used so sometimes I don't feel I can retweet them but they are very, very funny.
"She's been doing these voice overs for quite a while, and let me just say not all the time but occasionally I watch them and I think, yeah ... she must have an insight into what I was really thinking at that point but I wasn't able to say it and she manages to voice it in her particular style."She wrote: "Three years ago, my first voice over during the pandemic."
Another wrote: "I absolutely loved these. You made my days, waiting for these to appear. I watched every one. Laughed, cried and yelled at the end "Frank, get the door". Superb."One penned: "3 Years Since lockdown and this kept me sane thanking you." In October 2020, the comic and politician even teamed up for a hilarious sketch in aid of the STV Children’s Appeal.
