Jane Fonda’s climate-focused political action committee is endorsing District 2 City Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and District 5 City Councilwoman Teri Castillo, it announced Friday afternoon.
“The San Antonio region has been home to one of the nation’s biggest toxic polluters, a coal plant that has destroyed the air that people breathe,” reads a news release. “I am proud to endorse Jalen McKee-Rodriguez and Teri Castillo, who are devoted to ensuring that these toxic facilities shut down, and that San Antonio keeps its promise to end its use of coal within five years — and then eventually, it ends its reliance on fossil fuels entirely.
