The reigning champs will add another veteran piece.
The Warriors can look to the Alabama product for veteran leadership in a frontcourt that lacks experienced big men. After Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica departed earlier this offseason, only Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, Jonathan Kuminga and James Wiseman — who hasn’t played an NBA game in 15 months — return from last year’s group of low-post threats.
Green will join the Warriors with eight years of experience under his belt, seven of which he has made it to the playoffs for. After going undrafted, Green had a short stint with the San Antonio Spurs before turning a pair of 10-day contracts with the Memphis Grizzlies into a multi-year deal in 2015. The 6-foot-8 forward was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019 before signing a two-year deal with the Denver Nuggets the ensuing offseason.
