During an interview with Good Morning America, Jamie Lynn Spears said she tried to help her older sister Britney Spears leave her 13-year-long conservatorship

, Jamie Lynn said she was “happy” when Britney was freed from her conservatorship two months ago and she wasn’t aware of what the conservatorship entailed when it was first put in place because she was only 17-years-old and expecting her first child.

”Jamie Lynn said her family and her sister’s PR team were discouraged when she became pregnant as a teenager. After her daughter Maddie suffered a near-fatal ATV accident in 2017, Jamie Lynn said she became obsessive compulsive and struggled with her mental health. Britney was involuntarily entered into a conservatorship in 2008 that placed control of her medical decisions and her business and financial dealings into the hands of her father Jamie after she suffered a mental breakdown.
