Stars iamjamiefoxx, itsgabrielleu, llcoolj and Shaquille O'Neal set for Daymond John’s (TheSharkDaymond) Black Entrepreneurs Day
star Daymond John has announced the details for his Black Entrepreneurs Day, a live stream event presented by Chase for Business in conjunction with production company Medium Rare. Scheduled for Oct. 24 and designed to shine a spotlight on Black business, the event will stream on John’sThe program includes"Game Changer Conversations," presented by the General Insurance, that will feature John in conversation with the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Gabrielle Union, Jamie Foxx, Robert Johnson, L.
L. Cool J and others. Chance the Rapper and Questlove will perform live during the event and O’Neal, aka DJ Diesel, will spin at an after party presented by Pepsi. Daymond will be based in a Black Entrepreneurs Day custom TV studio in New York while all virtual interviews will be conducted via Cisco Webex, the event’s video broadcasting partner. In addition to the celebrity guests and business-focused intel, $175,000 will be doled out in bottom-line financial support courtesy of the NAACP Powershift Entrepreneur Grant, created in partnership with the NAACP. The grants will be broken up into six as funded by the event partners Chase for Business, the General Insurance, Pepsi, Cisco Webex, Quickbooks, Yappa and Robinhood. Applications are now open. In announcing the news, John said that the idea hatched during what has been a challenging year."I asked myself, 'How can I make a difference' and 'how can I call upon my network to help make that difference?' I teamed up with Chase For Business to create Black Entrepreneurs Day in order to celebrate small businesses and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives me and so many others. The people and partners who have signed on to participate with me in this event are a testament for the need to create change within the Black community." Added Christopher Hollins, managing director of Chase Business Banking:"Investing in Black-owned businesses is critical to driving job growth and economic opportunity across the country. Through programs like Advancing Black Entrepreneurs, we’re giving owners the tools and advice necessary to prepare their business for long-term success, something that’s especially important today."
