Everton news as James Tarkowski's mistake against Newcastle is heavily criticised by Jamie Carragher
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher did not shy away from criticising Everton's James Tarkowski for conceding a penalty against Newcastle United on Saturday evening. Ex-Everton star Anthony Gordon was presented with the opportunity to score against his former side from the penalty spot after James Tarkowski brought Sandro Tonali down.
Fortunately for Sean Dyche, Jordan Pickford's impressive record in saving penalties continued to deny Anthony Gordon. However, when the penalty was awarded, Carragher slammed Tarkowski's for his challenge on Tonali. Speaking on Sky Sports commentary, the ex-Liverpool ace said: 'James Tarkowski, what are you thinking, absolutely brainless.' As VAR were reviewing the incident, Carragher continued while Tarkowski conversed with Dyche.
