James Gunn's Superman: Legacy stars David Corenswet, and the director has just revealed an aspect of the film that breaks a Superman movie trend.
James Gunn has shared a new Superman: Legacy update that positions the upcoming DC film to break a modern Superman movie trend. Gunn is writing and directing Superman: Legacy, which will be the first movie in his and Peter Safran's new DC Universe. The DCU will reboot the hero, doing away with Henry Cavill's darker version of the character from the DCEU in favor of a new take on Superman that plans to bring him more in line with his comic book roots.
Superman: Legacy Won't Feature Young Clark Kent At All On Instagram, Gunn replied to a fan volunteering himself to play a young Clark Kent in Superman: Legacy, with the director revealing that the upcoming reboot movie of the Man of Steel will not include a young version of its main character at all.
Christopher Reeve's original Superman , Brandon Routh's Superman Returns, and Cavill's Man of Steel all included Clark Kent as a child or teenager to help tell the story of how the young Kryptonian became Superman. The character's young life before he becomes the Man of Tomorrow has usually been an important part of the character's story, and Gunn not including it in Superman: Legacy makes the film break the modern Superman movie trend of featuring a young Clark Kent.
