'Creature Commandos' creator James Gunn and star David Harbour discuss the show's interpretation of Frankenstein as a 'stalker' at the center of 'a horrible love story.'

One reason he had initially struggled to understand the scripts, Harbour says, is because of the unique nature of Gunn's screenwriting. Harbour continues, "the thing that fascinated me about the character on the page, and then also talking to him about it, was that this DCis Frankenstein? The fact is, it's a horrible love story about obsession and toxic relationships. I thought that being the heart of it was really fun and weird and awful."There have indeed been many interpretations of Frankenstein over the years.
"We went through a lot of iterations of that and part of it was just making clear the different eras that we were going through," executive producer Dean Lorey adds. "They were going by so quickly that you had to register them right away and to really feel the scope of what Frankenstein has put her through. We were hammering away at it for quite a bit, but I think where we finally landed was great.
