Summary Nearly 35 years after the movie first hit theaters, The Abyss is finally getting a 4K Ultra-HD release. James Cameron's 1989 sci-fi thriller centered on an oil platform crew being hired by the U.S. government to help a SEAL team find a missing submarine before the Soviet Union acquire it, only to discover alien life near the titular area.
