The actor’s death was caused by complications related to dementia, according to his publicist Cynthia Snyder (viaSikking’s career began in the mid-1950s, when he made his acting debut as an uncredited union sergeant in the film. Over the next three decades, the actor would take on roles on popular series such asThe primetime police drama premiered on NBC in 1981 and ran for nearly 150 episodes through 1987.
