Giants quarterback Jameis Winston called Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship 'beautiful,' praising the couple's dedication
New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston married his wife, Breion Allen, in 2020, and he has some advice for Travis Kelce as he gets ready to marry one of the most famous women in the world, Taylor Swift.
“I found it beautiful that at the end of the day, they’re still in a relationship, just like the average Joe,” Winston, 32, told Us Weekly exclusively in San Francisco as part of Netflix’s MLB Opening Day coverage. “And that takes work, and it requires the same level of dedication and passion that it did to get them to their level of expertise in their profession.” Kelce and Swift, both 36, were first linked in 2023 and made it official when the singer began attending Chiefs games to support him. Two years later, Kelce proposed, and the couple is expected to get married before training camp opens for the Chiefs in July. Watching from the sidelines, Winston heaped praise on how Kelce and Swift have handled their romance amid endless public scrutiny. “In terms of love, man, being able to unconditionally choose who you want to spend the rest of your life with is truly the greatest decision that you'll ever have in your life,” he said. “And with his choice, being one of the most amazing women in the world, has influenced so many cultures, so many people with her music…it's gonna be a beautiful thing.” He added, ”It's funny just to see how their relationship has grown and the public scrutiny or the public praise that they've received. He's the top of his tier in football and she's the top of her tier in everything.” Swift struck a similar tone to Winston in her Disney+ docuseries, Taylor Swift: The End of an Era, when she spoke about her and Kelce’s career trajectories. “We both have jobs where we both go out in NFL stadiums and we entertain people for three and a half hours,” she said in the series, which was released in December 2025. “His with considerably more violence than mine, but he’s not in heels. But it’s our passion. We’ve been chasing this since we were little kids.” She continued, “So, I don’t think I ever thought I’d meet a guy who had that same trajectory. And I’ve realized with this person in my life that just was the right fit for me, you can have the two passions coexist and they actually fuel each other. Ultimately, we love cheering each other on. That’s rad.” Swift is fresh off the release of her album, The Life of a Showgirl, which dropped in October, and the end of her historic Eras Tour. After mulling retirement, Kelce is gearing up for his 14th NFL season — all with the Chiefs — as he chases his fourth Super Bowl ring.
