Jali: I Didn’t Say No To Chiefs
Jali could have had the honour of having turned out for South Africa’s ‘Big three’ had it not been for Chiefs’ policy on their image rights. Having turned out for Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, the 33-year-old recently revealed onthat he was on the verge of penning a deal with Amakhosi; but he opted against it due to their contract stipulations.
“The contract must be between two people. I’m playing everytime – but you want to tell me how to play, it’s not possible. They had their way of doing contracts in the team that time, but I said 'no'. They approached me,” he told “That’s why Kaizer Junior spoke about it because he was there. I never said 'no' to Chiefs, but their contract didn’t go between the two parties. Some agreements were not good.
