Alabama quarterback reveals hilarious moment at practice under Nick Saban.
In an interview with “Bussin with the Boys,” the Alabama quarterback shared - in great detail - a memorable practice that ended with a patented Milroe move and blowup by the now 72-year-old former coach.
As was common in Alabama practices, the reserves were running plays against each other. Milroe, at the time, was a backup. During these end-of-practice periods, he said, things tend to get competitive.“They got the perfect call for our pass concept down the field,” Milroe explained. “Nothing’s open. Got a nice pass rush from the defensive end. I reverse. I make a good move on him. He falls down. I’m talking like I dropped him, dog. Like it was a good move. Spinned out of it. Took off.
“I get back , and I see this short man, red as can be,” he said. “Coach Saban always wears a hat at practice. I ain’t seen his hat, dog. I see his hair. Man, he ran down there, cussed me clean out. ‘The ball security, 4. The ball security.’ I said, ‘Coach, I just scored.’ I ain’t going to say what he said. ... ‘I don’t give a .’Milroe admits he was loose with the football, and, looking back as a mature player, understood the importance of the moment.
