Having a negative outlook on Hurts’ rushing prop this Monday night should prove to be a positive outcome for the bankroll. Oddsmakers have set the line on Hurts’ rushing total at 42.5, which seems absurdly high.
He’s failed to reach that threshold in five of his last six games, and has averaged only 29.8 rushing yards per contest over that span. Shrink that sample down to his last three tilts, and the average plummets to 20 rushing yards per game. The Alabama product has taken off much less often over those three most recent affairs, averaging only 6.7 rushing attempts. Hurts carried the ball an average of 13.6 times over his first five efforts on the campaign. boast a solid rush defense, ranking 10th in the NFL in yards allowed per game on the ground . The Penn State product mustered a season-low 46 yards on 15 carries when he battled the Commanders earlier this year. He joined a list headlined by Ezekiel Elliott , Aaron Jones , and Dalvin Cook of star running backs stonewalled by this defense in 2022. The line on Hurts’ passing attempts of 29.5 is a lazy one, as he’s averaging 29.8 throws per game this year. It doesn’t account for the fact that Hurts went to the air 35 times against Washington in Week 3, and may have to at least equal that in order to win this one.
