Eisen asked for an example of a more vocal Hurts, and Johnson explained that he’s seen it through breakout sessions, team events and spending time with teammates on the weekends. “Maybe stuff we took for granted ,” Johnson said. Sirianni replaced his coordinators, and he now will relinquish control of what he described was a “stale” offense for Kellen Moore, the new offensive coordinator. Sirianni also plans to oversee every part of the team and spend more time in positional meetings, meaning he won’t spend as much time with Hurts as in the past.
When Hurts was asked earlier in June about Sirianni changing his coaching style in 2024, he said simply, “That’s a great question. I don’t know that I know the answer to it. ... The messages he’s delivering to the team, he’s trying to be very intentional on what he’s saying.
