UCLA (23-4 overall, 14-2 in Pac-12) has now won 23 games in a row at home, which is the longest streak in the country, and is 15-0 in home games this season.
UCLA opened the game with a 12-0 scoring run that began with a layup from Jaquez, whose birthday was that night, less than a minute in.
Joel Brown put up the first points for California on a layup roughly six minutes into the first half, but UCLA still had a 12-2 lead at that point. The Bruins built on the lead in a flashy way when Adem Bona threw down two consecutive two-handed dunks, both with assists from Tyger Campbell. UCLA made two back-to-back 3-pointers for a 32-15 lead with under three minutes to go in the first half. The Bruins had a 38-15 lead at the break and were outshooting the Golden Bears 45% to 19% and outrebounding them 25 to 14.
The Bruins maintained a lead of roughly 30 points for most of the second half. A Jaquez 3-pointer brought the score to 49-19 with 16 minutes left in the game.
