Sanders recently coached the Tigers to a 43-24 victory over Southern in the SWAC Championship Game. Sanders departs Jackson State with an all-time record of 27-5, including a perfect 12-0 campaign.
Sanders’ tenure at Jackson State may have been relatively brief, but his impact was felt. An HBCU powerhouse, Jackson State had its first draft pick in 14 years when the Detroit Lions draftedwith the No. 217 overall selection in the 2022 NFL Draft.
