The Jacksonville Jaguars are betting big on cornerback Tyson Campbell, who becomes the highest-paid non-Pro Bowl CB in NFL history.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some historic moves this offseason. The team announced a multi-billion dollar deal to renovate their current home stadium, locking the team in through multiple seasons. Their new 'stadium of the future' is scheduled to officially open in 2028.
What makes this extension a bit worrisome is Campbell posted career highs in covering opponents. Opposing quarterbacks posted a 69.4 percent completion rate, 12.4 yards per completion, 532 yards, eight touchdowns, and a 128.5 passer rating when targeting Campbell in coverage. He was targeted 62 times in 2023.Campbell is young and will still be able to develop his game, which is likely why the Jaguars are investing in keeping him around.
