The anticipated Jaecoo J7 has officially landed in South Africa, marking the debut of the new urban off-road SUV brand in the region. With its futuristic design and innovative technology, the J7 is set to make waves in the local automotive scene, offering three variants starting from just R549 900.

Featuring a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine generating 145kW and 290Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, all J7 models promise spirited performance. The entry-level Vortex and mid-tier Glacier variants deliver power to the front axle, while the range-topping Inferno boasts all-wheel drive with the all-road drive intelligent system .

Each J7 variant comes generously equipped with advanced features. Even the base Vortex trim boasts power-adjustable front seats, a 13.2-inch touchscreen, a 360° panoramic camera, wireless smartphone charging and LED headlamps, among others. The Glacier model elevates the experience with larger alloys, a 14.8-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof and a suite of driver-assistance systems.

Khavhagali Vhalinavho of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature highlighted environmental conservation efforts, aligning with Jaecoo’s sustainability vision.
