Jacob Zuma: Increased police deployment expected ahead of trial DStv403
This is in anticipation of protests ahead of Former President Jacob Zuma's court appearance for his Arms Deal corruption trial.He has asked the Constitutional Court to reverse that decision.While the court has reserved judgment in that application, it is now asking parties for more information.
It wants to know if it should consider the UN's International Convention on Civil and Political Rights.Zuma maintains he was detained without trial or due process.Police Commissioner, Khehla Sitole, is reportedly extending the deployment of officers to hotspots in Gauteng and KZN. This is in anticipation of protests ahead of Former President Jacob Zuma's court appearance for his Arms Deal corruption trial.
