A new adaptation of Stephen King's novel 'The Running Man' is in the works, starring Jacob Elordi as Ben Richards. The film will be a darker and more faithful adaptation than the 1987 version.
The upcoming film adaptation of Stephen King 's novel, ' The Running Man ', will feature an all-star cast including Jacob Elordi , Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian, and Daniel Ezra. The film, set for release on November 7th, revolves around Ben Richards (played by Elordi), who finds himself thrust into a deadly game show where contestants fight for survival.
Brolin portrays the TV executive who serves as the central antagonist, while Esai Morales takes on the role of the game show's host. The film aims to deliver a more faithful adaptation of King's source material compared to the 1987 version starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. 'The Running Man' follows the story of Ben Richards, a man who volunteers to participate in a government-operated game show to win money for his sick daughter. However, he soon realizes the brutal reality of the competition as he is hunted by professional killers known as Hunters. While the 1987 film leaned towards action and humor, Wright's version promises a darker and more suspenseful take on the story.
