Roslyn Mixon-Phillips has been voted unanimously as the next interim CEO
Roslyn Mixon-Phillips could lead the Housing Authority as soon as this week, though her position is temporary she could make some major changes while she’s there.“ very excited to have been able to vote as a board to approve Ms. Rosyln Mixon-Phillips coming in as an interim CEO, said Heather Horovitz, the current Jacksonville Housing Authority Chair.
Horovitz said she’s worked with the city, HUD and other leadership in the past. Mixon-Phillips may be the answer for the many tenants and people looking for housing as the agency works on multiple projects.Following his departure, acting CEO Vanessa Dunn was appointed. She only served for six months before she was released amid allegations of unethical and abusive behavior.
“She acknowledges that there is change to be made and we welcome that change and we ask if there is any senior leadership changes that she will engage the board in those discussions,” said Horovitz. Horovitz adds that Mixon-Phillips will have full power to make whatever changes are necessary to get the housing authority back on track
