Jacksonville is in for a wet weekend with rain expected to impact the Christmas parade and Jacksonville Jaguars game, plus dropping temperatures and possible localized flooding risk, according to Katie Garner with News4JAX’s The Weather Authority.

Jacksonville, it looks like Mother Nature may be making some plans of her own for our big weekend events. Both the Christmas parade on Saturday and the Jaguars game on Sunday are expected to be affected by rain. Right now, the latest Exact Track 4D guidance shows that much of the heaviest rain should stay just south of EverBank Stadium during the Jags game, which is some good news. Still, expect showers to be in the area as the weekend unfolds. For the Christmas parade on Saturday, keep your rain gear ready. The heaviest rainfall is forecast to hit Saturday night, but scattered showers are likely throughout the day. It’s a chilly start across our area! At 6 a.m. this morning, Jacksonville was sitting at 41 degrees, but with the wind chill it felt even colder. Many spots across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia dipped into the 30s and low 40s. The wind isn’t too strong at first, but those gusts are expected to pick up as the day goes on, so be ready for it to feel colder than the thermometer reads.I know we need the rain, but the amount coming in all at once means localized flooding could be an issue this weekend. Our rain chances really jump up Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with Saturday and Sunday looking the wettest. The bulk of the heavy rain is expected Saturday evening into the overnight hours, making for some tricky travel and event plans. By Sunday morning, most of the heavier rain moves south of downtown, and we may catch a break by lunchtime. Some scattered showers could still pop up, so keep checking News4JAX’s Exact Track 4D radar for the latest.Culinary Nunnsense: Richard shares his stew recipe -- perfect for the lower temps in our forecastByron Chandler Interiors in St. Johns County shares tips on home decor!76-year-old mother killed in Lake City crash adopted two young girls who also diedAnnual Channel 4 Toy Drive tradition returns on Thursday, Dec. 4Mother of 18-year-old killed in Burger King shooting shares her grief, along with a messageWe're talking playoffs!
