Jax construction company gets DoD contract bumped by $25 million
Sauer Construction LLC has seen the value of a recently awarded Navy construction contract jump by almost 65%, with $25 million being added to a previously awarded task order.
The Jacksonville-based construction company was recently awarded the modification to a contract to provide demolition, construction, and repair work associated with storm damage at Naval Air Station Pensacola.Sauer was one of seven companies awarded a piece of a $900 million design-bid-build contract in September 2021, with task orders being issued as work is needed. The task order for the Pensacola work was initially issued earlier this month, with the company slated to be paid $38.
Last year, the company received $159.5 million in contract funds from the Department of Defense, primarily doing work for the Army and the Navy. Among its largest projects last year was construction of ammunition facilities and construction of maintenance buildings.
