In March 2024, Australia’s population was 27.1 million and had grown 0.6 million in the past year, so it is probably 27.4 million now.So, the Andrews/Allan government has had six years to get ready; to organise a response that meets community priorities. They didn’t. What our children need is a halt, not just a slowdown, to this unprecedented growth. It is denying them places to live.
As trees are removed from private land for developments, there is insufficient space on public land to plant the required number of replacement trees.
