Brentford will have to drop their asking price for Tottenham and West Ham target Ivan Toney if he is to seal a summer exit,It is believed the Bees are currently demanding between £50-60million to sell the 28-year-old – and that price tag is deemed excessive for a player with just 12 months left to run on his contract.
Spurs are particularly big admirers of the England international following his scoring exploits for Brentford in recent years.Toney had also been on the list of targets at Chelsea but is no longer a priority at Stamford Bridge. Brentford now face a tough decision on Toney’s future with the London club in a weak negotiating position due to his perilous contract situation and poor recent form.
The 28-year-old returned from a ban for gambling rule breaches in January and managed four goals and two assists in 17 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.
