ITV have revealed a big progamme change for some of their most popular shows - including the soaps as the Euro 2024 matches dominate the scheduling for the next month
There’s big, and bad, news for all soap fans as the Euro 2024 airing on ITV has resulted in a big schedule change for both Coronation Street and Emmerdale .The latest episode of Manchester-based soap Corrie was axed on Friday 14 June, and it will remain off-air on Monday 17 June while the Austria v France takes its space. Emmerdale will also remain off-screen as the match also takes up its usual slot as coverage.
But some fans have taken to social media with a suggestion they believe would solve all the problems. One viewer wrote: 'Put Corrie and Emmerdale on ITV2 then, no biggie is it?’. This week in Coronation Street, Toyah Battersby and Nick Tilsley continue to sneak around behind the back of Leanne Battersby - who is still being taken in by a cult.
