Lamont Marcell Jacobs won gold for Italy in the first Olympics 100m of the post-Usain Bolt era.

Born in El Paso, Texas, to an American father and Italian mother, 26-year-old Jacobs has lived in Italy since he was a baby and currently resides in Rome.

His gold medal win is a first for Italy in the discipline and capped off a dramatic finish to the first 100m final of the post-Usain Bolt era.
