Italian PM to announce reopening plan
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte says the government will announce the gradual reopening of the economy by the weekend, and the move will be done according to scientific data to avoid a fresh spike of Covid-19 cases. – EPA pic, April 21, 2020.
ITALY’S Prime Minister said today that by the weekend he will detail the steps the country will take to gradually loosen restrictions, reopen the economy and emerge from the coronavirus crisis. Italy, which has declared more coronavirus deaths than any other European country, has been under national quarantine since March 9, with some regions imposing lock-downs even earlier.
