'It wasn't working': All Blacks assistant coach MacDonald quits on eve of tour to SA
Leon MacDonald has left his role as All Blacks assistant coach.The All Blacks are set to tour South Africa for two Rugby Championship Tests against the Springboks.
Robertson and MacDonald mutually agreed to part ways after discussions about their working approach, New Zealand Rugby said. "There was no intent to get to the point where we are now, but we just believe for both of us, as for the All Blacks group, is to make the call now.Thank you to Leon MacDonald for all he has contributed as All Blacks Assistant Coach. Leon has announced he has decided to leave the All Blacks coaching group ahead of the two Test matches in South Africa. He departs with the respect and best wishes of us all.
"As a team we have acknowledged that contribution and our focus now needs to be on South Africa, it's going to be two tough Test matches over there.
