Texas MoonCameron Jayce McCann, the shop manager at the Brass Tacks Barber Shop, knew Bridges had stopped by the shop’s vintage section. He noticed that Bridges had drawn a crowd.
Leon Bridges attends day two of Homecoming Weekend earlier this month at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, Calif. “The street was blocked off a bit and cars were parking, and there were people standing in the street,” McCann said Monday. “It was awesome.”“He actually played in the shop when it opened [in 2014],” McCann said. “He’s a friendly, nice guy. We’re all huge fans of him here. We’re very happy to see people brought together in such times by music and joy.”
Bridges will be on tour with Little Dragon March 4-5 in Phoenix. His Boundless Tour kicks off July 29 at the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. He’ll perform on Aug. 4 at The Pavilion at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving. Playing Bishop Arts is a journey back to his roots before he became an R&B star. Before his earlier EP“We’re kind of able to redefine how people perceive Texas music — if Erykah Badu can do her thing, and Megan Thee Stallion can do her thing, this is our contribution to Texas music, in a way,” Bridges said.. Tommy Cummings has worked at The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the San Francisco Chronicle as an editor/writer/digital producer.
