Formula 1: Aussie Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo revealed his emotions towards the 2024 British Grand Prix.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner branded Sergio Perez ’s recent form “unsustainable” amid reports of a clause which could give the Formula One powerhouse the option to terminate his contract.
Perez’s worrying run of results continued with a dismal finish of 17th at the British Grand Prix, making it seven consecutive races without a podium finish. In fact, Perez has secured just 15 points in his previous six races, a figure dwarfed by Max Verstappen’s 119 points in the same time span. The Mexican’s recent struggles has many in the F1 community questioning if Red Bull pulled the trigger too early in signing him to a fresh two-year deal prior to the Canadian Grand Prix. The report states the clause is enacted if Perez slips 100 points or more behind Verstappen in the drivers championship standings at major points in the calendar, which include the mid-season break and the end of the 2024 campaign.
After the British GP, Perez sits 137 points behind Verstappen, with two races to go before the mid-season break.“He knows it’s unsustainable to not be scoring points,” Horner said.
