JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance’s Khume Ramulifho is challenging current Gauteng leader Solly Msimanga for the job of leading the main opposition in the province.Ramulifho also has his eye on the DA’s premier candidate position when the country goes to the polls next year.
Ramulifho, who has watched over the education sector in the province for several years will try to unseat Msimanga as the party’s provincial leader. Ramulifho said he is ready to bring new ideas to the party. He has also argued that the DA is in dire need of someone with integrity and credibility to lead South Africa’s economic hubMeanwhile, contesting for provincial chair are incumbent, Fred Nel and Katlego Mathebe.
Lungile Phenyane, who was the most nominated candidate at the DA’s national congress in April is up for deputy provincial chair.
