The controversial cuts were brought in to improve services

Trains at two Merseyrail stations will be fully reinstated next week after more than a year of reduced services.

Services were partially reinstated at Bromborough Rake first before being increased at Green Lane. However the decision to prioritise one station first over another was labelled "a nakedly political decision" by Wirral Greens' co-leader Cllr Pat Cleary.READ MORE: Nan 'couldn't walk for a week' after buying product from Home Bargains

The new trains will replace the current fleet of trains which are 40 years old with step free access, able to carry 50% more passengers, and more space for bikes, buggies and disabled passengers. However the roll out has not been smooth with faults disrupting services.
