PETALING JAYA: Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has urged members of the public and patients not to lie about their travel and close contact history during the Covid-19 crisis.
He said there had already been several incidents of patients refusing to divulge key information, such as their attendance at the Sri Petaling mosque tabligh gathering. “Only after the procedures and treatments was the information revealed, and by then the patient had jeopardised and risked all our healthcare workers and facilities.
“It is a crime not to reveal or hide information. I appeal to the public and patients, please be truthful and do not hide information and risk our lives and facilities,” he said in a Facebook post today. Earlier this week, the Seri Kembangan health clinic had to be shut down and disinfected after a patient who had reportedly lied about attending the tabligh gathering tested positive for Covid-19.Subscribe to our newsletter and get news delivered to your mailbox.
