'At best, I am going to be a prisoner in my own home. At worst, the dust could kill me.'

Visiting the rural Lancashire village of Preesall, you'll see virtually every home, farm and building proudly displaying yellow banners. An unusual sight to everyone but those local, who are fiercely campaigning against plans for a proposed quarry set to be opened in the area.

There are many tight corners on the route to the potential excavation site, with worries of future issues for any large vehicles that will need to use the road to get to and from the quarry, including a tight corner on Burned House Lane. Pieter said that in the past, there's been some "unauthorised dumping" in the fields behind the kennels which impacted the business and now claims the quarry will only make matters worse. He said: "We had wagons lost, they took the wrong turning and once they start, they can't just turn around so they ended up in our car park, ripping that up."

"We brought it around Sandicroft Place, Sandy Lane and a bit of Lancaster Road, so we surrounded it. 111 people have upper respiratory disease - these are the people that are going to have the pollution markers. Glyn is going to have it in front of him, the ones on Sandy Lane are going to have it to the back of them - 14 of those are children."
