Sources report that air strikes caused only material damage.

An industrial zone in Syria’s northern city of Aleppo was targeted by Israel air raids overnight Wednesday, according to Syrian sources.

The sources reported that air strikes caused only material damage. However, opposition sources said Iranian ammunition stores and a military airport used by Iranian forces had been struck, the Israeli daily Haaretz reported on Thursday. According to military experts, Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards have a strong military presence in Aleppo where they support local militias that have for years been fighting alongside the Syrian army to defeat insurgents.
