Israel and militants blame each other for an explosion at a hospital compound in Gaza that Palestinian officials say killed hundreds shortly before President Biden's visit to Israel.
President Biden announced that the U.S. will send $100 million in humanitarian assistance for Gaza and the West Bank. 'This money will support more than 1 million displaced and conflict-affected Palestinians, including emergency needs in Gaza,' Biden said during a speech Wednesday in Israel. A U.S.
official said the aid would come from existing funding already approved by Congress. The president warned Hamas not to steal or divert the humanitarian aid that countries around the world are funneling into the region. Biden said that he would later this week send to Congress a request for an 'unprecedented' aid package for Israel.
