Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer , who is leading a visit to Tel Aviv by a bipartisan congressional delegation, said he will push the Senate to provide Israel “with the support required to fully defend itself from this monstrous attack.” Schumer said in a news conference Sunday that the U.S.
” He said that upon his return to the Capitol he will direct senators leading relevant appropriations and foreign affairs committees “to pull together a package that the Senate can take up within the next few weeks.” Schumer said the support for Israel in Congress is bipartisan. “We have a lot of partisan divisions in America, but this isn’t one of them,” he said. The majority leader also said two key tasks are at hand: “Eliminating the threat of Hamas once and for all, and freeing hostages. ...
