The Met said it would not tolerate hate crime as it sought to reassure people it had a ‘significant policing plan’ in place
More than a 1,000 extra officers have been deployed on the streets to police the London event organised by Palestine Solidarity Campaign along with Friends of Al-Aqsa, Stop the War Coalition, Muslim Association of Britain, Palestinian Forum in Britain and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. “We’re expecting thousands of people to come to the Capital for a March for Palestine and I want to assure people that we have a really comprehensive and significant policing plan in place to ensure the safety of people attending and to deal hate crime should that occur.
A Section 14 Public Order Act 1986 condition was also imposed from midday on Saturday, ahead of a potential protest expected to take place on Kensington High Street.Another protest was due to take place in Manchester on Saturday.
