The IDF said they attacked military targets in a Hamas naval facility in the Gaza strip after the fifth rocket was fired from the territory into Israel in the past six days.
, the IDF said sirens failed to sound in nearby towns as the projectile sped towards an unpopulated area in Israel. A spokesperson for the Sha'ar Hanegev region revealed that people living in Nahal Oz, a kibbutz in southern Israel, found out about the incident through an alert system.
The incidents after four rockets had already been fired into Israel over the past week. One rocket was launched towards southern Israel on Friday. Another three were fired on Saturday evening. Although one of the rockets hit near a residence in Sderot, a former development town in the Southern District of Israel, the Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted the other three. No injuries have been reported from any of the rockets.
In response to the Friday incident, the IDF bombed a couple of Hamas positions, but it appears they did not directly retaliate to the Saturday attacks.
