Israel 's government has approved a truce in the 470-day long conflict in Gaza, a war that has reportedly claimed the lives of over 46,899 Palestinians and wounded 110,725+. The ministry stated that at least 110,725 people have been injured during the brutal Israeli war on Gaza, a conflict spanning more than 15 months. Families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza have appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take immediate action to secure the release of all hostages. A committee representing these families issued a statement urging Netanyahu not to delay negotiations for the remaining hostages until 16 days after the implementation of the first phase of the agreement. “We urgently call for swift arrangements to ensure all phases of the deal are implemented, and emphasize that negotiations for the next phases must begin before day 16,” the statement stressed. In Lebanon, the newly elected president, Joseph Aoun, declared on Saturday that Israel must withdraw from Lebanon's south by the January 26 deadline stipulated for the full implementation of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire agreement reached last year. Aoun informed visiting United Nations chief Antonio Guterres that the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories in the south within the agreed-upon timeframe was essential. The statement from his office also warned against continued Israeli breaches of the agreement. The Gaza-based Prisoners Media Office announced that lists of Palestinian prisoners scheduled for release as part of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal will be publicly disclosed before each exchange day, following a predetermined mechanism agreed upon with the Israeli side. The office clarified that the Israeli publication of the list for the first phase of the prisoner exchange is an action solely attributable to the Israeli authorities. It added that the release mechanism is contingent upon the number of prisoners to be freed and the categories they fall under. This process will continue throughout the first phase of the agreement, which lasts 42 days. A recent poll revealed that 73 percent of Israelis support the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza. The survey, conducted by the Israeli daily Maariv in collaboration with the Lazar Research Center, took place on January 15-16, and demonstrated overwhelming public support for the deal. The survey found that 45 percent strongly support the agreement, while 28% somewhat support it, resulting in a total approval rating of 73 percent. Only 19 percent of Israelis oppose the deal, and 8 percent remain neutral on the matter.
