on city’s health emergency preparedness against the coronavirus pandemic, particularly the recent spike in the number of cases involving the highly-contagious Omicron variant.
The Partido Reporma standard bearer in the upcoming elections said they have also been strongly adhering to other health protocols especially the superspreader activities. According to him, there is a need for the city government to act fast as more people-including doctors, nurses and other medical frontliners-have been infected or re-infected by the virus.
“We are trying to prepare our city in our own little way through our health department and Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council and the Manila Police District of any possible surge that will demand quarantine facility. We have activated our quarantine facilities about two days ago,” Moreno said.
“If you are not vaccinated the chances of getting infected is high. Omicron is highly contagious, most likely you will get Covid,” he warned.
