Calls to ban smoking inside casinos in Pennsylvania have largely petered out in recent years, but now, in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions that forced patrons to gamble without lighting up, advocates are once again making an effort to amplify the conversation around banning smoking in all casinos.
The coronavirus pandemic has recharged efforts in Pennsylvania to ban smoking in casinos, which now can permit smoking in half of their casino space.
The Hollywood Casino in Morgantown, shown here, was one that bucked the trend by banning indoor smoking when it opened in December. But is allowing patrons to smoke indoors while renovations take place and it's not known whether it will reinstate the ban after the renovations are done. Dan Gleiter | [email protected]
