'I will say that Scott's character, he is gone. He did die in that freezer,' creator Ian McCulloch exclusively told Us Weekly about James’ fate. 'He did suffocate, as his daughter said.' Drawing inspiration from Robert McCammon's book Stinger, the first season of Teacup hinted at an extraterrestrial takeover killing animals and humans alike in rural Georgia, but there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered.

'It's very astute that it feels like a movie because that is the idea of the shorter episodes,' he explained. 'It is not only because we want to leave the audience wanting more — so they move on to the next episode — but there's an economy of storytelling. In the end, it should feel like a single piece, which is what a movie is.'
