But a spokesman for Sir Keir Starmer yesterday denied flip-flopping, and insisted the plans are not being watered down. Asked if the entire New Deal will be in the manifesto, the spokesman said: 'Yes – the New Deal for Working People is going to be in the manifesto.'
But business leaders have been increasingly vocal in their opposition to some of Labour's original New Deal proposals – and are likely to welcome the change of heart.
